Blankets for the animal shelter!

So recently, we held a fundraiser by selling ornaments and other clay items. With the money from that and some generous donations, we managed to make five great, warm, and soft blankets for the dogs and cats of the shelter. Now we are going to share with you some photos and the pattern to make the blankets that we made!

This is us at the front desk,

This is us meeting a Chihuahua named Tony😍,

This is us meeting an adorable long-haired Chihuahua named Rita!

Look! we're selling! yay!!

So this is how we made the blankets!

We got five pieces of fleece in different colors at ⅔ a yard length, 44 inches width. We doubled it over and cut strips around the outside edges, about one inch long and skinny, (leaving the fold in the fabric intact.) we cut out squares in the corners and made hearts out of them, then wrote our names on it and stuck it inside of the blankets before they were finished. We took the strips on the edges and tied them twice, creating a nice fringe around the blanket (excepting the folded edge)

Have fun making your own blankets for the animal shelter, or just your own pet(s)!

We would like to encourage you to make and donate your own blankets for the animal shelter, as sometimes the dogs and cats are cold, especially in the winter or in a rainy season.

Thank you!
